At Nisku Glass, we work with both Plexiglass (acrylic) and Lexan (polycarbonate) to provide safer, lighter, and more durable solutions than traditional glass—while choosing the right material for the right application. Plexiglass offers exceptional clarity and a clean, polished finish, often appearing clearer than standard glass. It is UV stable for outdoor use, lightweight, and rigid, making it ideal for windows, viewing panels, displays, signage, and interior barriers where appearance matters. Scratches can often be polished out rather than requiring full replacement, helping reduce long-term costs.

Lexan, on the other hand, is engineered for protection. It is virtually unbreakable—up to 250 times stronger than glass—and will bend rather than shatter on impact. Lexan performs exceptionally well in cold weather and high-risk environments, making it the preferred choice for equipment guards, heavy-duty windows, machine shields, and safety panels in industrial, oilfield, and fabrication settings. Both materials offer increased safety and reduced weight compared to glass, but selecting the correct option can significantly minimize downtime, maintenance, and replacement costs over the life of the project.
